Why is downtown Glendale such a great place for events? With a diverse setting of historic bungalows-turned-shops, glowing gas lamps, walkable alleyways, artsy bistros, international cuisine, a centralized public library, modern civic center, and an outdoor amphitheater – Historic Downtown Glendale is one of the most enchanting 10 square blocks in Arizona. The City of Glendale actively funds artists and performers through project grants, and venues and owners have been welcoming to musicians that want to try their hand at entertaining a group of people. Many great performers have history in Historic Downtown Glendale, from Marty Robbins to Jordin Sparks. Some people from all over the world come to Glendale year after year for famous annual events such as Glendale Glitters, The Glendale Blues & Jazz Festival, Dog Days, The Chocolate Experience, and more. Locals come to gather on a regular basis for the Low Rider Cruise, Wine Down Wednesday, and the Antique Shop Crawl.
Some notable venues include the Glendale Civic Center, the Marty Robbins Plaza by Pizza Old Roma, our many coffee shops and bars, the Velma Teague Library, and Murphy Park.
If you are an event promoter, venue or organizer and do not see your event on Experience Glendale’s Things To Do Events page, you may submit your event to us here. All events must be approved by our team prior to inclusion on the calendar. Factors that will help your event get coverage on the app are 1) all events must be held within the confines of our physical footprint of Downtown Glendale 2) Event listing must be appropriate for an all-ages audience. This includes events held inside establishments serving alcohol. 3) History of event promotion. If you have submitted events in the past and they were frequently edited or taken down prior to the originally scheduled date, then we may not be inclined to share your events in the future. It is important that your event listing has an image (preferably 1200 pixels by 630 pixels) and that the date, venue, and time is secured prior to submitting your event listing. With that said, we understand that things happen. Rain happens. The pandemic of 2020 showed us that all kinds of factors need to be considered when planning an event that is safe for our community. Prepare for circumstances by preparing your event details as best as you can prior to submitting.
